What’s it really like to arrive at a home exchange? To unlock the door, turn the knob and enter your vacation home?
Join me as I arrive at my latest home swap, this time in Florida!
My Take
Every home swap is unique and its own adventure. I’m thrilled with this swap! Everything is clean, the bedroom furnishings are basic but include the TVs and the baths are completely new and quite luxuriously appointed. And I’ll definitely enjoy the pool!
This house is in a residential neighborhood and a few miles from the beach. While I’d love the oceanfront, too, the private yard and pool is a treat so there’s no disappointment here. I’m fine with the location, but it’s a few miles to the tourist hub and a car is definitely needed.
I’ve got lots of time to explore. What’s on my list? Museums, a Latin community event, turtle rescue, an Everglades tour, a trip to Key West…
Your Take

What a treat to see you enter this exchange home for the first time, thank you. We would so love a place like this!! Love your blog and web site, we have been following for several weeks and are now planning to sign up ourselves, wish us luck! T.

That is so nice! I could just dive right into that pool right now and spend the whole day there. I have that picture that they have over the kitchen table, but I have it over my bed to make me feel warm.
I love key west. Can’t wait to see the pics you take there. The last time I was there was 10 years ago. It is so beautiful and so colourful.

The pool area is like my own private oasis and I’ve tested it: a whole day there works very well! (Think I’ll have to try your ‘stay warm in Canada’ picture trick when I get home!) I’m looking forward to Key West & will be sure to post some pics.
